Parent/Carer Workshops

At Mandeville, we believe that children achieve their very best when school and home work together. Throughout the year, we offer a range of workshops and information sessions to support parents and carers in understanding how we teach key aspects of the curriculum and how they can help their child at home.

These workshops also provide an opportunity to meet members of staff, ask questions and gain practical ideas to support learning and wellbeing. We value the strong partnership we have with our families and look forward to welcoming parents and carers to these sessions.

Please find details of our current and upcoming workshops below.

We are excited to announce that a new programme for parents, Parent2Parent®, will soon be available to you through the school.

Parent2Parent® is different from parenting programmes, which focus on parenting skills and managing a child’s behaviour. Parent2Parent® lifts the lid on some useful teaching techniques and explores how teachers motivate children and promote learning. The programme is not designed to challenge or promote any parenting style. It is universal, and proven to have an impact on children from all backgrounds and all walks of life.

Through a series of six modules, you will be offered manageable and practical ways of supporting learning through family life, and will be shown how making small adjustments to your approach at home could have a huge impact on your child’s learning and long-term achievement. It is not focused on the curriculum and homework, but on generic learning themes and will explain how teachers help children to learn.

The Parent2Parent® programme is free to attend and will run for six weeks.

If you are interested in attending, please contact the school office.
